Ive tried about 15 zip repair programs and they either end up as being demo only or will not work properly. Im going to walk away and come back before the computer takes a trip out the top floor window! -\!

Well , I can understand your frustration, but that is how life is, mainly tough. (

What happens with the plainer InfoZip and offzip?

And what with this freeware?

Not that i'm an expert on the inner workings of Excel, but this looks like an unpacker, like the ones used for malicious code. Did you get any warning from antivirus software while it "repaired" the file? If so, the file MAY be contained in isolation in the antivirus softare somewhere, you may try to grab it from that place - preferably on a box isolated from the rest of the network.

NewalSaina - www.excelrecoverytool.net/. The program will not parse the zip file

Jacclaz
1) www.essentialdatatools...ectfixzip/. 'Repairs' the zip file by deleting the corrupt sheet1.
2) Just had a quick look at plainer InfoZip and offzip, but unable to download the software at the minute. I'll try again later.

re www.essentialdatatools...ctfixzip/. Ive also tried the original .xlxs file, but same result, i.e. it 'Repairs' the zip file by deleting the corrupt sheet1.

Sorry, misunderstanding, I was referring to the "Kernel for Excel Repair Tool" that would probably expect a .xlsx file and not a .zip.
