I was considering buying a PC3000, but prices are too high (at least for me). Could someone suggest me another tool that is cheaper and does the same job?

Thanks in advance

Atola has it's Insight product that is said to be able to solve some firmware problems as well as removing passwords on drives.

It is still expensive at 6990$, but a bit less than PC-3000. I have not personally tried it so I can't vouch for it. Just thought you might want to check it out.

Atola's price is more convenient but still expensive. It seems that PC3000 and Atola are the only choices for HD firmware recovery. It is a pity that there is not a 'Disk Jockey pro HD firmware recovery', maybe someday.

cheers

Is there a particular Hard Drive that you have in mind?
As I've recently been doing some in-house research on this.

Normal HD's just for general purposes, you know, SATA, IDE… .
Do you know about a product cheaper than Atola Insight and PC3000?

If you do, please let me know.

You could go to Salvation Data tools, around $3700.
