Hi, All. I hope it's okay to post here. I'm the proud mom of a new baby boy. He was born last week. Anyway, I was loading new digitial pictures and I REPLACED the pictures from the day he was born.
Do any of you know if I can get these files back? It's not like I deleted them. A box popped up and asked if I wanted to replace the files, and I clicked "Yes to all". I know, you're thinking I'm an idiot, but I thought they were duplicates and I was tired.
Please, if you know a way to get them back, please let me know. We are on Windows XP.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I assume you mean that the pictures were in a folder on your computer when you tried to put more in the same folder. Problem is when using the default file names created by the camera it seems as though the second batch had the same names as the first. That's why it asked you if you wanted to replace the first batch. I did some tests a while back, replacing files with files of similar size and identical names. In most cases the new files were written to different areas on the disk. The replaced files were still there.
Based on my experience most of the original pictures should be there. Don't save anything to the computer, use it as little as possible until you can attempt recovery.
Email me if you need help with this.
I sent you a private message.
Dear Greg,
Thank you so much. I am in the middle of diaper changes and feeding right now, but I will read what you wrote ASAP!
