Take a look at the ISO 27000 standards. They can serve as a set of guidelines for the things your clients will be looking for in a security audit. As far as the physical security elements are concerned, monitored surveillance, monitored alarm services (fire, burgular), proper media storage, electronic access controls, access control audit logs, fire suppression systems, and access policies are all things they'll be looking for during a site visit. Again, the standards are a good starting point.
All,
Thanks for the posts. Does anyone have any suggestions for physical security that some of their potential clients have required? Such as deadbolt lock on the door to the home office, safe etc etc?
thanks
An evidence safe is a must. I would also say the you should take above average measures to secure your exam machines from theft.
