When you say reverse engineering what do you mean? Reverse engineering a filetype such as Gigatribe log files or reverse engineering a binary file such as a piece of malware?
Tell us more about your background and what exactly it is that you want to learn and we might be able to help.

I'm not sure if you've read it or not, but "The Malware Analyst's Cookbook and DVD" has been described as a $3000 course in a $37 book. I haven't had a chance to go through any official training, but if you're interested in malware analysis, check out that book.

Has anyone taken courses on reverse engineering? It seems like this class (
www.idaprocourses.be) will teach you how to write IDA plugins and is less expensive then Black Hat conferences and their trainings. Any recommendations?
The IDA Pro class is excellent, but if you're not intimately familiar with assembly/C programming and Windows EXE/DLL innards before you go, it would be a waste your time and money.

Was going to mention this as well. Also I am pretty sure the 2 guys that wrote the book that Audio mentioned both went to this class as well.
I took the class and I never worked with IDAPRO before. I think Lenny does a good job of taking you through the steps. It's some interesting stuff to know. Though it would probably take me days and asking Lenny a bunch of questions to get rolling if I had to do something right now. Its a profession into itself for sure.
Speaking personally I started this work before there was any courses but I have recomeded the following books to my mentees over the years.
The Art of Computer Virus Research and Defense (Peter Szor)
ISBN-13 978-0321304544
Hacker Disassembling Uncovered 2nd Edition Book/CD Package (Kris Kaspersky)
ISBN-13 978-1931769648
A few years old now but I still think they are worth the money.
Hope that helps
