I have a J700P that went for a swim and the owner desperately wants the photos recovered (children, pets, etc)

I would like to interface with the chip via EMMC pins (CMD CLK DAT0 VCC VCCQ)

Im coming up empty on any sort of pinout for this model. Im guessing because its a budget model for the sprint network in the US.

i can always pull the chip and do it that way, but they used a BGA221 on this, and i dont have a 221 socket currently. Would love to just do it on board.

The only reference i can find to anyone ever pulling data from one of these comes from a thread on this forum. I have PMd that user in hopes that he remembers.

If anyone has any information it would be appreciated.

To the best of the owners knowledge he did not enable encryption.

Thank You

ok out of the office today for the holiday but i will get some pictures and microscope shots added tomorrow morning.

I tried to do some probing around looking for at least a CLK signal, but i dont think the EMMC is even running. Shows up in Qualcomm loader mode when plugged into a PC, which further suggests this in my experience.

kmq3100 EMMC

Thank You

Make sure your photo is clear showing the Qualcomm Snapdragon and BGA221 beside it on the board; if you want the points to be highlighted on a photo. Btw VCC points are found under the heat shield on the opposite side of the board; so you need to remove heat shield first to expose underneath and send a photo of that too.

I could not get it to interface in circuit. I ended up pulling the chip and reading it directly. The customer was willing to wait for the correct reader to arrive from china.

If you wanted to ship the board/EMMC chip here (PA,US) i could try to read it send you the contents.
