Hi all!!!
Right…. i know i asked if anyone knew of any books but im starting to need some ideas for software or freeware that i could use to analyse…. if anyone has any good ideas then please let me know! Im looking to analyse a TomTom, Mio map & a Garmin.
Thanks alot! D
You're going to need different tools for each device i'm afraid.
Garmins you should probably use Garmin's own mapsource. Alternatively just drag the .gpx file into Google Earth. I have yet to find any deleted data on these devices.
TomToms. For free you can use POIEdit but it won't interpret what each location is or show you any deleted information. TomTology will show you deleted information and interpret the locations correctly but it's not free.
Mios I don't have any experience of I'm afraid.
Andy is quite correct, there are also enscripts available. all I can say is if you have a TomTom use TomTology, im going freelance now and that is on the top of my list, well worth the price.

Mitch
Thanks guys, I tried tomtology but the downloadable driver to enable the software to operate properly wouldnt work for me…. any ideas?
Sorry to b**t in, but does anyone have an enscript for TomToms?
Thank you
Si
The driver should work on all OS's, what are you running?
As for the EnScript, it was written by Beverley Nutter from the Met.
I think if you email tomtomrecordfinder@googlemail.com she will send it to you.
