Hi! brand new to the eforensics world, was wondering if I could get some help…
I was asked to realize some investigations about the avialable software to realize some tracing and tracking investigations…

Some mails have been recieved, whose header information has been modified, is there any software that can allow tracing and tracking…?

The investigators asked if there is a way to trace msn conversations when the save conversation option was turned off, I have heard that messenger temporarily saved such, any tool to trace that? or anyone know where they are saved tempt if they are?

Sms, tracing and tracking them but not the phone to phone, but the ones sent from a url to a phone, is there any posibility to trace them??

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

ps. if I misplaced this questions in the wrong subforum I excuse myself and would be very greatful as to the be direct where to ask this…

You asked several different questions that would have entirely different answers.

For back tracking, www.dnsstuff.com is probably the standard used by most folks.

If MSN chat is not set to logging, you will have a hard time getting much of anything.

I have no idea what you mean with you talk about tracking cell phone urls. Do you want to know what URL the message came from? Or the location of the phone when it received it?

Emails with modified headers First of all you need to know how to read email headers and the techniques used to back trace email. Then you can use DNSstuff or some other resource to map / locate the ip address or source.
