Hi all,
Is there any possibility (or is there already a case) where someone sending hidden audio stream while having a voice conference in Instant Messenger (YM, Skype, GoogleTalk etc)? If there is, what tools could i use to detect it?
Your response is very much appreciated. TQ.
You mean, like, steganophony??? wink
Sure, it's possible. One could frequency-shift the hidden stream to an inaudible range or even bit-masking it (very difficult). All could be decoded from a good recording of the convo.
Hi AWTLPI,
TQ for the new term steganophony which now i explore more.
I am new to forensic analysis. I have tried on stego for image, MP3 and a few tools to discover it. I send stego files during voice and video conferencing via few instant messenger BUT that is consider normal way of sending data (like email attachment, by send and receive button), not streaming (steganophony) i guess. Initially i wanna try to do the streaming test, where it requires me to understand how severals protocols works, but it becomes complex to me when i also have to go fot bit and frequency stuff.
I will proceed to get more info for better understanding, however i would like to know is there any test data/sample and related tools i could use on this.
