Hi,

I'm analysing the removal of a program (Dropbox) and i noticed that once uninstalled keys like the following still exist -

Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers\Dropbox.ext1
" " " " " \Dropbox.ext2
and so on…

However keys such as do not -

Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers\Dropbox.ext1

Would there be a specific reason as to why the Wow6432 nodes would have been deleted whereas the others still exist?

Sorry, but there's just not enough information to go on…

When you say, "I'm analysing the removal of a program…", is this based on an experiment that you're running, or is the analysis of a system for a case? If it's a test of yours, what information can you share with respect to the setup?

How do you know that keys existed in the Wow6432Node in the first place? Are you seeing deleted keys there?

In my installation of Dropbox, there are no keys in this node. I am running a 64 bit processor and OS, however Dropbox is only 32 bit!

So most likely what you are seeing is normal.
