I came across a need to parse out a file from the Windows Media Player called CurrentDatabase_372.wmdb. I found this suite called Simple Carver that looks like it will do the job but it comes with about 79 other tools that while I am fairly sure I could get plenty of use out of, I currently only want to parse out this one file.
So before asking the boss to spend the ~$95 for the software does anyone know of another way to parse out these files?
It may be worth considering what you are expecting the tool to extract. You seem to be after something to extract 'a file' from this library file.
The carver advertises on its website that "The CurrentDatabase_360.wmdb file can contain file name, file properties, music, video, photo and playlist information."
You are likely to end up with a list of files that the Media Player has scanned as being suitable content for viewing/listening to.
However, as you say there are many other tools in the suite that may still make it a worthwhile investment.
I don't know about another free solution, but as a feedback, Simple Carver was used with success by the LE I know.
