Hi All

I am developing a class to teach some of the more simple recovery and imaging concepts. I am looking for a image file that might be already created to do these tests on. I am concerned about using copyrighted material in my class so I did not want to just pull something off of the internet. The things that I would like to discuss are

1. Data Carving
2. File Recovery
3. Disk Imaging

The disk imaging is a no brainer. I will just use encase acquistion to create the .E01 file.

But the other 2 I was hoping to find something simple as these are just beginner students. I was planning on using a simple floppy disk for the exercise.

Thanks

Maxwell

Max,

Is there a question in there somewhere? It really seems like you've already got it all covered.

If you really need something, go check out one of the HoneyNet Project challenges…there's one from a while back that is a floppy drive that requires one to do data carving and file recovery.

You may want to head over to http//www.honeynet.org/scans/index.html

They used to run a 'Scan of the Month' challenge, and some of the challenges were floppy images.

Check out scans 24 and 26.
