Hi,
I am examining a Mac with FTK. I am able to see the chat between the 2 parties and I know they are using the web cam to see each other. I was wondering if the video is stored anywhere on the HD? I am also wondering if there is a tool around that I can use to put the chat into a more reader friendly format.

Thank you,
T L

The video is streamed and I believe also encrypted for transmission. (It's been a while since I've had to look at Skype.) There's no reason to store it on either machine, just like your phone doesn't store your voice comms.

As stated video is not stored.

You could look at my program SkypeAlyzer to export the messages - demo version on the website link below.

Regards
Paul

Just to let you know, there's a more up to date version of that skype parser that Tim posted (from redwolf).
For some reason their website doesn't link to the latest version, but you can find it here
http//redwolfcomputerforensics.com/downloads/skype-log-installer-1.7.exe

(I'd definitely recommend the newer version - old one failed on certain profiles for me, where the newer one doesn't.)
