I was just looking for some info on Smart Watches an happened up on this discussion. I see it was started in 2013 and its now March 2015 and the Apple watch has been announced and its supposed to have 8GB internal storage (not all available to the user though) I'm wondering if this would cache some info, even if a phone is required for the original data, if the phone was reset/smashed could messages, calendar, thumbnails etc be recovered? (and how do you go about connecting it?) It will be out soon, so its still food for thought. I've asked the boss for one to "play with" So far £299 has not been approved…yet! D

We'll have to keep an eye the LTE enabled watches as they're purported to no longer need a paired device with cloned data. The LG Urbane comes to mind.

FYI, latest Cellebrite UFED release included a physical extraction support for Galaxy Gear Smart Watch.
