I followed the directions as instructed; however, when I got to the last step, the phone came up with a screen that read
Please insert Micro SD card.
I do not have a card. Do you think if I got one and put it in the phone it would allow me to access the deleted content?
There should be (see the manual) a way to use either the internal memory or the Micro SD card (or both).
It is also possible that having "a" Micro SD card inserted is needed. ?

Thanks so much for your guidance. I checked the manual and I do need to have an SD card before it will be recognized as a USB device. I'm planning on picking one up this week. I'll let you know if I'm successful in getting what I want off of it.
Thanks again for your help!

Good.
It is very possible that you will need (using some menu on the phone) to copy the images/SMS to the SDcard as "only" the SD card will be seen as Mass Storage device. ?

I transferred all the data from the phone to the SD card. Autopsy and Wondershare Data Recovery (free trial program) only found the information I could already get to on the phone. None of the deleted SMS messages or deleted pictures were recovered. Other than sending it off to a professional, are there any ideas as to how I can get access to this deleted information on the phone?

I don' think so, a "physical image is needed of the on-board memory, and this should require some dedicated hardware/software, I am afraid.
