We have a case that requires the identifcation of Korean words in order to proceed to the document review stage. Does anybody know of software that can recognise and tag Korean????

What format are the docs in? JungUM ?
How are they encoded? I don't know if korean has space delimited words.

Or do you just have to know if there is Korean text in there?

We just need to know if there is Korean in the docs….we need to be able to pinpoint which docs have Korean in them.

I guess it depends on how restricted you are in your search. Assuming a typical Windows installation, if you CAN look for installed fonts and then just search for occurances of of the use of suitable fonts. Haven't tested this theory, but that's the first thing that comes to mind.

That is easier - but you did not tell me what types of documents you have.
Korean text is easy to detect if it is in unicode.
