Hi,

I need to go through a number of hard drives. These hard drives are legally mine
and reside in my house. You already see where this is going. It's not about
divorce but fit for duty in child custody. I had paid these forensic specialists to
work on the HDs. But I had to quit at $3500. The data was so volumous
(26,000 separate distinct logons to facebook in a year. And that was just FB)
I had to have them quit. The bill was going to be 10s of thousands.

I need to keep recovering the data. FB, FB chats, IMs, emails. All of it exists
on the HDs and I need to get them off.

I'm a self-starter and quick study. I just need to be pointed in the right directions
as far as software. (I am a hardware person not a software person but do have
decent computer skills).

Thanks.

Go visit Magnet Forensics.

I'd bet my hat the 'consultants' you paid through the nose for likely did the same.

I'll look at the free trial.

Is there any shareware or less cost software?

The non best friend price of the Magnet appears to be $2k.

Thanks.

It looks like they used AccessData FTK.
They are going to try and prepare me a
hard drive with all the base data on it.

Encase or X-Ways Forensics (not cheap for a license, but cheaper than what you paid the specialists)
