Hi there,
I've an old Sony Ericsson T700 mobile phone.
I wanted to reply to a text message, but then I was asked to delete a file because the memory was full.
I have selected a particular image and had deleted it, but suddenly the screen went black and the whole phone memory has been cleared.
There were no more messages on the phone.
The following I tried
I connected the phone to Windows 7 with a DCU-60 USB-Cable and tried to recover anything with Recuva Data Recovery. But nothing was found.
Is there any chance to get my text messages back? Perhaps I have to access the internal memory if there is some?
Thanks!
Hi again,
I'm a step further now.
I found a method to access the internal memory of the phone and I copied e.g. a file called phonebook.dbf.
Does anyone know, how to open / read this file? Is it encrypted?
Thanks

Sure. It's no secret. I used the tool "a2uploader" to directly access internal memory.
This way I aquired a file calles phonebook.dbf.

www.farmanager.com/index.php?l=en as the tool is free, T700 is listed and might I suggest reading posts in the fourm regarding .dbf and other issues
I have tried that and all DBF plugins, too. But I had no success.
The file seems not to be damaged, because I can see name fragments I know mixed up with hieroglyphics.
Perhaps it is encrypted?
Thanks
Cellebrite UFED Physical Analyzer supports decoding of these SE database files (compressed).
You can try creating a dummy file system (or even the full file system since you have access) and then use Open Advanced and select the T700 profile.
BTW, Cellebrite UFED supports physical extraction and decoding for this specific SE T700 model.

Thanks. I know this tool and it is recorded in an old SE-NSE forum thread http//

Ron, could TheRealHoudini import the phonebook.dbf file he has acquired with "a2uploader" into UFED and would UFED decompress the content etc?
Yes, it should be possible using UFED PA "Open Advanced" option.

Thank you, I thought that maybe the case.
