Does anybody have any references to some good papers on SSD/TRIM commands?

Or equally valid source that explains why deleted data may still be recovered from an SSD?

Thanks for the links! I had read the first one but the second one was definitely new to me.

Not strictly answering your original question but I found this page helpful:

Garbage Collection and TRIM in SSDs Explained - An SSD Primer | The SSD Review

This being with respect to the garbage collection aspect particularly (and written by someone who works for a a controller manufacturer, LSI, judging by the comments).

MKF_608 SSD Garbage collection Tech Brief.indd (kingston.com)

Garbage Collection – the silent enemy of data recovery | Data Recovery Ireland

I only provide these with respect to the point that @thefuf makes on this old thread: Hash debate – General Discussion – Forensic Focus Forums in that future hash values of SSDs may well not match (since there seem to be a few articles out there putting everything down to TRIM - when, in fact, garbage collection can occur regardless of TRIM).
