I replaced the HDD in my forensic laptop with a Crucial M4 500GB SSD and all was well for 4 months.
Yesterday the SSD was not seen by the BIOS. I thought that the disk had died.
I did a bit of research and discovered it is not unheard of and the disk can be 'reset' by following out the procedure in the link below.
It took an hour to complete the cycle but it worked for me and all of the original data is still on the SSD disk.
