I've spent the last couple of days trying to find a reference book that explains the main file systems - but also which includes XFS in detail.

A quick search on Amazon reveals over 5,000 potential candidates.

Can anyone recommend something?

Thanks

Duncan

For some main file systems, yes (FAT, NTFS, EXT, UFS). But it doesn't seem to have anything about XFS particularly.

Hi Duncan,

It is dated but LINUX FILESYTEMS by William Von Hagen includes the XFS file system. Separately you will find excellent information

http//oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/

http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XFS

http//www.sgi.com/products/software/xfs/techinfo.html

http//techpubs.sgi.com/library/tpl/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?coll=linux&db=bks&srch=&fname=/SGI_Admin/LX_XFS_AG/sgi_html/ch01.html

Cheers!
