My department is looking to purchase mobile phone examination software. It’s down to these two packages due to budget constraints. I am looking for the most bang for the buck, but I am confused as to which to recommend. They both have their pros and cons based on the sales reps opinions. I am looking from advise from people who have used both packages to help me decide.

Thanks in advance.

I personally have several choices to choose from when it comes to processing mobile devices at work.

From my experience and observations while watching others I work with process the mobile devices, Susteen Secure View 2 is and has been a more "go to" tool over Paraben.

One thing that you might toss into the mess is the product updates. Paraben releases an update to support newer devices very seldom, as Susteen will release 2-4 updates per 1 from Paraben.

I did however just use Paraben 4.0 to process a GPS device which ended up being the key piece of evidence for the case. It ended up getting a physical capture and retrieving more then enough information then what was needed. No other available equipment or software supported the GPS.

Hope this helps a little.

IMHO, don't go with either Paraben nor SecureView.

We've had a lot of stability issues with Paraben.

Datapilot just does not cut it for us. Not enough supported phones nor features per phones.

My advice would be to invest in a good solution such as XRY or Cellebrite.

I have to agree with Hitman 😯 , Paraben is a waste of money and time attempting to get there "software" to connect or extract data, if any twisted . There support lacks the knowledge or "know how" to give you an accurate reason why an extraction on a "supported make/model" yielded no results. They tell you to create a log file, then send it to their tech/engineering support team. And several days later, along with some constant calls or emails, they give you an answer of…"it contains corrupted data." roll Cellebrite is decent, only a limited amount of experience with it, not familiar with Datapilot at all. I am actually looking to invest in flash boxes now, the software industry has frustrated me with unjustified reasoning for their failures on supported make/models.

I have the same thought about Paraben. Even though I have tried to contact Paraben to solve the problem I had on Paraben product, I haven't got any respose at all! You could check what I wrote before. One thing I know for sure is "Do not buy Paraben unless you don't mind bearing with their customer service".

We have Parabin device seizure as part of our kit. If I click on the icon, it's a sign I am getting desperate and have tried all the other options. As commented above, "stability" is the right word,

Paraben frustrates you, and then the whole software industry frustrates you.

Maybe your expectations are way to high. No company even your "flash boxes" will be problem free, the only way problems can be fixed is if people report them and allow time for an answer to located. Constant calls = time away from figuring out a solution, everyone who has a problem needs it fixed right away, but if you take a second to think about it 10 people with problems can stall a customer support center and others cant get through because of someone is constantly calling to check the status. In a field situation time is essential, but it's not their fault we are in the field and have limited time.

Paraben has really good people working there and you can reach a support person to help you. I find the support people very helpful and only one occasion where they couldn't help with an issue.
