Is anyone aware of how I can open a b1 file? The file name of interest in my investigation is "Planner.pln.b1". I am not sure how I can view this file, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

OS?

File path?

Have you looked at it in a hex editor?

A quick google search for ".pln.b1" reveals this which seems to look relevant on the information given

TabletPlanner 2.x automatically creates a backup for you in the same location that your database file is stored. By default, TabletPlanner creates a database called TabletPlanner.pln in the My Documents\TabletPlanner Database folder. Each time you access TabletPlanner, a rotating backup is created. The backup files have the same name as your database, but with the extenstion .b1, .b2, etc. If your database is called TabletPlanner.pln, your backup files will be called TabletPlanner.pln.b1, TabletPlanner.pln.b2, etc. If there ever is a time you need to restore a backup, simply remove the .b1 extension by renaming the file, and removing the .b1 extension.

To backup the database manually, simply copy the .pln file to an alternate location.
NOTE The TabletPlanner database can increase dramatically in size when ‘binding’ documents to the TabletPlanner. You may need to use a Zip disk, or recordable CD-Rom to backup the database externally.

The TabletPlanner 2.x update is available as a free download. Make sure you have an active connection to the Internet and simply open TabletPlanner, tap or click Help, and select TabletPlanner Updates. Follow the instructions to download and install the update.

The problem is that this backup file is from a Tablet PC and my forensic machine's operating system is Windows XP. Is there a way that I can view this back up file if it is exported to a CD or DVD?
