Hello everybody, i'm looking for a tool (for windows mobile or symbian) wich allows me to identify the GSM cell ID to wich i'm connected.
and just to know your opinion, do you know if the cell ID can be used as a proof in a situation like
person A says he was in a certain place when receiving a call.
during the call the phone was connected to the X cell.
by going to that place, with a SIM from the same operator and the same model of phone, the resulting cell ID is different.
can this work as a proof to affirm that person A wasn't in that place while receiving the call?
sorry for my bad english.
Hi,
The following are available for Symbian S60.

Rampage, it largely depends what context you mean 'Proof' - just for personal satisfaction or for a court of law (subject to the laws of your country)? If you are intending to eg show Proof, as in a court of law, then I suspect you will have alot more corroborative work than that set out in your scenario above.
From my experiance the location information is stored on the SIM card and not the handset!!!
Correct me if im wrong please.
Also I do not think that a court will allow that information as proof of person A's location as what proof do you have that the phone was with person A, and not being used by another person or left some where?
