I have just examined a F480 Tocco the sticker on the rear reads the imei as 35187*******. it appears to be the original with no lift or similar to any corners etc.
my report has given me an imei number of 45645*******.
on doing *#06# I also get the 45645 number
International numbering plans accepts the 35187 number and returns the info that its a samsung tocco f480 but the site doesnt recognise the 45645 number??? any ideas please
I'd suggest that the IMEI has been altered (either on purpose to avoid it being blacklisted, or as a result of a botched repair) - Samsungs are (apparently - I've never tried) easier than most to change the IMEI and I know of at least 2 seperate flash boxes that have the capability.
Also having read some other forums some of the "repairs" to samsungs leave it with a wrong/invalid IMEI.
Either way, changing the IMEI (in the UK at least) isn't "a very legal thing to do".
cheers alex will see the BABT and register it there
It is possible that the housing has been changed??
It appears that the owner has previously been in trouble for re programming and had " forgot" to even take the inside sticker off,not a very succsessful career move !!
Ha. I do believe his uppence may have come!
