Quick question about Office artifacts
I have a Windows XP computer here with Office 2000. When I look in the MRU folder (C\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Recent) I can see some files with the extension .jpg.url.
It is my understanding that this folder should only contain LNK files (shortcut) to recently opened files. How and why could there be some .url files in there?
Thanks.
If you are in an Office application and you access a picture from an internet resource you will get a shortcut file in Office/Recent which is a url. For example if you were creating a presentation and you want to include a picture from a web site if you inserted the picture by entering the url in the insert picture dialog you would get that url in Office/Recent. A more likely possible scenario might be creating a web page in Frontpage or Web Expression and using a graphic directly from the web.

Thank you very much. This was exactly it. I was able to replicate this and it worked.
