Hello, i am a newbee in here.
I have a small question regarding usb memory stick that have the possibility of hiding a portion of there storage capacity.
Usually it askes for a password to unlock the protected space.
Encase or ftk for shure can't see the hidden partition.
1) Is there a way to unlock that space without having the password?
2) Is there a software or a way that i could see at least that hidden portion of that space.
Thank's
Tony,
Is it that you are unable to see the whole space of the memory stick as opposed to you see an encrypted volume? If so have you tried imaging in DOS or tried taking a raw image of the device using DD on Linux or an Apple Mac?
My experience of memory sticks so far has been that an encrypted volume is created into which files can be placed rather than a portion of the capacity is hidden.

Are you refering to the devices using U3 as a protection means? So far, I have not found a way to access the protected volume but have not do much research on it.
If you are refering to another means such as encrypting a volume then the answer would depend more on the encryption tool used.
