In fact I do have faith in Adaptec - personally I have always liked their products. I spent 20 years working on tapes, all SCSI, and always prefered Adaptec products, partly because they supported ASPI.

However, in this case it would have been nice if the drivers had been ready before Oct 22nd, and hence this year I feel Father Xmas may arrive first. (He only has 6 days). Maybe he will bring the drivers with him, or at least early in the new year.

I could have mentioned the AHA1460 pcmica SCSI card, but as there is no slot for for it on my new Windows 7 (32) laptop I will accept that products can only last so long.

Overall I like Windows 7 (32 and 64)

Adaptec is actually very good about the driver development.

As far as Xmas…why can't I convince my wife that a TD1 is a romantic gift?

downgrade to 64bit 2k3.

Was there a reason why you didn't try Server 2008?

As I mentioned earlier I've has no issues to date after 2 months of fairly heavy usage of Windows 7 64-bit.

In my experience of using Server line operating systems the driver availablity is not there; especially with graphics cards eg., if you want to run multiple displays, etc.

Because encase and RDP also does not work in Server 2008. I have tested
