Just checked out VFCv2 pricing.
LE 699
Corp 1399
2x as much Cmon…
Isn't that a bit too much of an increase?
Double the price for non-LE? 😯
MD5 who developed didn't use to sell it to non-LE at all.
Or of course there's always the perfectly usable, and free alternative
I can't understand this myself.
I really have sat and wondered why people don't just stop buying products who offer such steep cost increases to non LE.
Somewhere I read that there are 30k Encase dongles ( I would have thought there be more or the piece could have been inaccurate) say if there was a company offering such price differences if 2k people said no more are we going to pay your prices that would have to change some minds.
People just starting out don't really grasp the cost of being in this business on the private side until they have to foot those yearly upgrade bills, recert classes, CE classes, etc.
The MD5 Groups "contempt" for the corporate side seems to end with taking corporate $$$ for their classes. Can you say… hypocritical? I don't think I will be lining up to buy or recommend their products.
We've been using VFCv2 for about month now and it's superb. Don't let their pricing strategy detract from the fact that it is an extremely useful tool.

I guess it depends whether you're paying for it yourself or not as to whether you can be relaxed about being charged double.
Chris_Ed how many positive tries on 10 images with version 2?
Personally? 10. One of my colleagues had an issue with one image, though - it failed to detect his keyboard and mouse once the VM was launched. But I don't think that's an issue with VFCv2 - more likely it's a problem with VMware Player.
I'm not in any way involved with the development of VFCv2, by the way - it's just that it is a very good tool and I didn't want people to write it off purely because of their policy of charging less if you're LE.

I've tried about 6 images (with help of Encase PDE module) with success ratio 100% so far.
I know this is slightly late in the day but the new pricing structure for VFC2 will be released in April. The Corporate rate will be more in line with the LE rate.
