Guys, had a few issues in the past but just worked around them…

I'm currently working on a case where I would like to get access to the users image, issue is that the vmware player and windows xp do not like to play nicely…

I'm getting the error where activation is required (google'd it already before any one suggest it) and its basically an error where an OEM install of windows on the laptop finds that the settings have changed.

I have tried the SMBIOS.reflectHost = "TRUE" line in the VMX file but to no avail. Suggestions online say that I would need to activate to get access or have the exact config as the original machine had (but I dont have that - only the image).

help appreciated if anyone's had this before.[php] ?

thanks Douglas, had a look at a few previous posts on the issue on FF but found no real solutions etc…

could well be stuck and have to work with just the image itself if nothing else )

If you call Microsoft, they will give you a new activation code as long as you are running only one copy of the software. If you want to have the VM and the live system, you can always purchase another license.
