Assuming SATA not SSD,
Seems to be a lot of dead drives around the country lately of all brands and the question gets asked by watercooler "what hard drive would you buy"
Looking at reviews on newegg, Amazon, etc. there are drives which are failing a lot.
Seems to be lots more people buying barebone and then a really good USB enclosure to keep it very cool.
You know of course that WD now owns the HDD business of Hitachi, and that Seagate owns Maxtor?
So this isn't really much of a poll.
Could have listed IBM, but they sold their business to Hitachi years back.
What about Samsung, Toshiba, and the SSD manufacturers, Intel, OCZ, etc..
The majority of dead drives I see are Seagate - but this could be just because they sell more.
I have personal preference for WD Green drives because they they run very cool, but can be slower. Of 10 such drives, I had one failure.
