Also, I posted a similar question for the iPhone because of one thing I was thinking…if you could run an iSCSI connection to the iPhone to view disk images on live systems for quick review (F-Response/X-Ways combo for iPhone basically). Might be nice to just have that handy to do a quick directory review before taking out a field system and booting up, etc.
Interesting idea. Apple intentionally blocked the iphone from mounting other than as a camera to a MS system unless you install itunes. Same on a Mac. Any ideas how this can be side-stepped?
Well I was actually thinking as a unit to review the drives on a target host machine.
But maybe the other way it could be a way to mount the iPhone volume for acquisition…hmmmm

I took a look at the linked info. The source there is assuming wifi so I think they are seeing the same issue. I have a tool that lets me browse the OS X machine via wifi and transfer files. I can see all the directories including the root and I think the 'dotted' ones, I'll have to double check. It also has the unfortunate ability in our context to write to the OS X volume. I wonder if the developer could tweak it so it wouldn't write?
