Greetings,

Harlan's book will walk you through finding this information. Here's a web site with the answers as well

http//www.windowsreference.com/networking/dhcp-static-ip-settings-in-windows-registry/

The information is here

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]

RegRipper will pull this out for you very nicely but it is easy to find by hand as well.

David

You just beat me to a reply there.

I think Mr Fonzy is a final year computer forensics student and my reply was going to be -

Try checking your own IP address and searching the registry for it.

Try searching the rest of your computer, can you find it anywhere?

Search this forum - the topic might already have been discussed?

If Mr Fonzy wants to be employable he needs to be able to answer this question himself.

Just a suggestion wink

Greetings,

I do agree with the sentiment that people should be able to do their own research and I've often suggested that people set up test beds or use Google. But it is Thanksgiving and also there are days that I fear I'm becoming a grouch and so I offered up the information directly, remembering all those who've done so for me in the past.

With thanks to everyone here who's helped me, will help me, or is just here trying to learn and help others to do so.

There are a lot of questions that you can reasonably ask for help with, but when the answer is in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article which is the 3rd result of a google search for "IP address stored windows XP"……

http//www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=IP+address+stored+windows+XP
