Gawd, I hope so! The book will be out from the printer (I'm told) around the third week of April!

Harlan,
do you know whether the DVD purchased with the e-book will be shipped also to Italy? I'd like to purchase the e-book now rather than wait for the printed version in July, but I'd like to have the DVD too. Also, do you know if the purchase of the e-book entitles one to a discount for the paper version?
Sorry to bother with these questions, but there are no answers on the Syngress web site, nor any references to contact people to ask.
Thanks,
– Cosimo
I just talked to the publishing company, and the DVDs will most likely be shipped second-day DHL.
They're also going to update the catalogue page to reflect this, as well.
Thanks,
H
Is there a cover-all package? The paper copy, with the dvd (and ebook included on the dvd?).
Just wondered if its possible to get the best of both worlds (not having to stare at a screen to read the whole book, a searchable ebook when looking for something, and the dvd materials).
Cheers,
Rich
Guys,
thanks for the questions…I'll aske them of the publisher, and if I hear back soon, I'll post the answers.

Dear Syngress Customer
We are pleased to announce the publication of Harlan Carvey's Windows Forensic Analysis Including DVD Toolkit ebook, available exclusively from syngress.com. Order now, and you will also receive the hard copy upon publication next month at no additional charge.
Windows Forensic Analysis Including DVD Toolkit ebook
"One thing that many computer forensic examiners have noticed is an over reliance by investigators on what forensic analysis tools are telling them, without really understanding where this information is coming from or how it is being created or derived.
The age of “Unintended forensics†(i.e., loading an acquired image into a forensic analysis application and pushing a button) is over. As analysts and examiners, we can no longer expect to investigate a case in such a manner. Cybercrime has increased in sophistication, and investigators need to understand what artifacts are available on a system, as well as how those artifacts are created and modified. With this level of knowledge, we come to understand that the absence of an artifact is itself an artifact. In addition, more and more presentations and material are available regarding anti-forensics, or techniques used to make forensic analysis more difficult. Moreover, there have been presentations at major conferences that discuss the anti-forensic technique of using the forensic analysts’ training and tools against them.
Here's what I got back from the publisher
"International orders for the e-book can be placed through syngress.com
the exact same as domestic orders. Yes, the DVD will be shipped to them
(thie shipping is obviously much more expensive internationally). There
is no option for book w/ DVD+e-book."
I hope that helps!
Harlan
BitHead,
While I do greatly appreciate the plug, I have to say that it appears that you retyped or copied the contents incorrectly.
"The age of “Unintended forensicsâ€" should read "The age of Nintendo forensics".
Thanks,
Harlan
Copied it from the E-Mail. Guess I should have proofed what they sent.
BTW. The download has a comma after the PDF extension that needs to be removed.
Also, I ordered the hardcopy w/DVD not expecting to get the eBook. When I got that E-Mail I went into my account and the download worked for the eBook. The best of both worlds from Harlan. FYI The open password is included on the page that contains the link to the eBook, not in your order confirmation.
BitHead,
Any order issues really need to be taken up with customer support at Syngress…if you intended to purchase the hardcopy and received the ebook instead, go directly to them. With regards to the email content, I've sent an email off to the publisher…some proofreading may need to be done. 😉
Thanks,
H
