When I try to open Zip file I get errors message
"Cannot open file it does not appear to be a valid archive"
what causes the problem?

Maybe the archive not being valid? ? roll

It happens that a file is corrupted through copying or downloading, in some cases minor corruption can be "fixed" (or however the contents extracted) but it depends specifically on the specific file and on the kind (and extension) of the corruption.

There are several tools for attempting these kind of repairs both Freeware/Open Source or Commercial, of course in most cases of a copied/downloaded files it is easier to re-copy or re-download it, if an "original" is available.

You could try using WinRar, that has an option to repair archive.

7-zip often copes better with these kinds of files in my experience. Always try a couple of good tools if you don't like the first result you get, you never know…
