Hi all,

I've received a request from one of our members to open up a separate forum for Mac forensics. Do you think that would be a good idea or would it make it more hassle to check for new posts when you visit? Is there enough interest in Mac forensics to make a separate forum worthwhile? Is analysis of Macs so fundamentally different that it makes sense to have a dedicated forum?

Please post your opinion to the poll at the top of this thread and any comments below, thank you.

Kind regards,

Jamie

While I wish there was more on Mac forensics, based on the number of posts I have seen it would unfortunately be pretty quiet.

I agree. Maybe in time, but there doesn't seem to be a big demand.

Might as well start it now. I think Mac Forensics are going to be more of a growing trend of the next few years. Doesn't hurt to be ahead of the curve.

If you look at the market it would make sense, however be warned that people will soon ask you why you don't have a Ubuntu forum, or why haven't you divided up XP and Vista into separate forums, etc.

I would enjoy reading it until the Mac boom kicks in over here in England, then I would gladly participate (especially as I'm a Mac user).

I agree with CdtDelta.

I think it would be a great idea. It would help separate some of the tools and questions and seeing from work lately I'm receiving more cases with Macs.

Having a separate forum will give Mac questions greater visibility and will help reduce the amount of posts in other forums.

Like DFICSI said,we don't have a forum for Windows/Linux/Unix etc..
So,IMHO not required at this time.

I'm the one who requested the separate forum be created for MAC forensics. Just like the one for Mobile was created, I feel that a separate forum for MAC will be for our advantage as all techniques and tools would be in one spot. I will appreciate all members support.
Thank You,

I would be nice to have one for Linux/Unix Forensics as well. Not tools but the OS.

So maybe it becomes Windows Forensics, MAC Forensics, Linux Forensics.

See! Now, the question is, did I predict this accurately or did my prediction make it happen?
