someone said me that writeblocker can fail. Have you got links and documents and which manufacturers have this problem?
How you can fix it?

Write blockers are basically software controlled. Updates can introduce unintentional features (otherwise known as bugs). Manufacturers will fix these problems very quickly.

As with any product, at least do a simple confidence test before using it, and after any firmware update.

This is a guess, but I expect every model has had it's problems.

Judging by posts on this newsgroup, there are only two main manfacturers.

It is up to the user to make sure that on their setup, write protection is working.

Stage one - test it
Stage two - if you do a firmware upgrade, test it again

Hardware blockers do break like all other hardware as a result of wear or handling. I have experienced this on some occations.

It would be a good idea to test your blockers on a regular basis.
