Had a question for those who have used the Z3X Box. I was reading that it would allow for the flashing of an sboot file to enable ADB and then possibly be able to remove FRP. My concern is that I was under the impression that flashing a new sboot would wipe the phone. Is that the case? Trying to avoid doing a chip off if I can.
Removing FRP wipes the device.
Got it. But what about flashing sboot with adb enabled? Would that wipe the device? Or would FRP block that from happening as well?
Flashing eng sboot (sboot.bin and boot.img only, not a full COMBINATION firmware) won't wipe the device but you have to flash correct one or you might end with bootloop. These are signed files and they won't be blocked by FRP while flashing. They are essentially a bootloader and kernel with ADB enabled but not insecure tho, so you have to confirm the connection. Then, the software just runs "adb shell content insert –uri content//settings/secure –bind namesuser_setup_complete –bind values1" to confirm that you passed the setup and let you to menu.
I don't think it'll work with password protected phone since you won't have an option to authorise the device with your PC. To actually disable FRP and allow flashing a custom recovery you would have to enter developers menu and enable Oem unlocking.
Thanks for the info! My main goal is to enable ADB as at that point I could perform a physical extraction and go from there.
It's a trap, with locked device, you can't Allow the connection to enable the USB debug, no matter what you flashed to it.
I sent you a private message before, but it seems you didn't read it I think we can open your device with our remote mobile forensic solutions!
