I was fortunate enough to see one of his demonstrations, which was spectacular. I will review my notes from the class when I get back home later today after my interview.

Try doing the following…

Connect the iPhone 4 to the box

Open 'Terminal' and 'cd' to your multiplatform iOS4 directory.

Type 'sudo sh recover-raw.sh'

It should now ask for your password and then start off!

I am running 10.04 with no updates on a stand alone box and it works fine.

Hi Doug,

I got it working on 10.04 perfectly and done a couple of iphones and ipad no problem on it. Just a shame we can't get it working in VM as it would give us all the capability to do it on our own machines instead of dedicated machines or dual boot machines.

Ah well… at least it works.

We had issues trying to get it to run in a VM as well!

Luckily it is not a resource intensive process so an old box/laptop with 10.04 installed is suitable!

Another tip is to download the firmware bundles from Apple and change the root in the 'firmwares' file within the multiplatform folder.

So a line would look like
A1303+4.3.3=file////home/username/Desktop/Firmware Bundles/filename.ipsw

That way you don't need to be connected to the internet which is beneficial for obvious reasons!

Somebody in the office mentioned that too. Is a good idea as you know yourself with forensic machines, not really supposed to be on t'internet. Its just a case of getting round to downloading them all…

One day! )

At my last count I have a folder of 34GB, that's nothing in this day and age!
