I'm taking a directed studies course as part of my MA in law, and I want to look at different countries' search and seizure regulations/laws as part of my work.

I was wondering which laws regulate digital search and seizure in your jurisdictions? Is there a web link to these laws?

At the moment I've been primarily using LegislationOnline http//www.legislationline.org/documents/section/criminal-codes

Any other suggestions (e.g. books, journal articles, web sites, or other publications) that deal with digital search and seizure law would be greatly appreciated. Case law and international treaties are also of interest to me.

Thanks.

Kroll is one of the fastest to post things.

Lexis-nexis is a good place to go (you may get a discount if you are a college student)

In England and Wales the principle legislation covering such matters is the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Sections 19 and 20 - viewable in amended form here.

If you come across any information on requirements to become a Computer Forensics professional in other countries, I'd be interested in potentially adding that information to our site. (http//www.computerforensicstraininghq.com/)

Always looking to update the information where I can and add new information.

/* Sorry, I was fooled by the previous comment. The original thread is from 2009… */

IANAL, I am just an expert witness that happens to act in search an seizure actions that include digital media, but to my experience

In Spain if you are under criminal jurisdiction, search and seizure is primarily regulated in LECri arts. 545 to 588. Link (in Spanish) http//noticias.juridicas.com/base_datos/Penal/lecr.l2t8.html

Under other non-criminal scenarios, actions assimilated to search and seizures are regulated in arts. 129 to 132 of the patents law. Other regulations refer to this same patents law when considering this kind of actions. Link (in Spanish) http//noticias.juridicas.com/base_datos/Admin/l11-1986.t13.html#a129

I hope this helps.
