UK Law and US Law is very different.
for UK Law - the main acts you need to know are
PACE 1984 - seizure and evidence
RIPA 2000 - seizure
Human Rights Act
Computer Misuse Act
Telecommunications Act
There is a set of law books called STONES which covers every possible ACT in UK. Expensive but essential to a Legal Person.
For US LAW - I have no idea - sorry
UK Law and US Law is very different.
for UK Law - the main acts you need to know are
PACE 1984 - seizure and evidence
RIPA 2000 - seizure
Human Rights Act
Computer Misuse Act
Telecommunications Act
Just to add several more to jon63 list
- The Wireless Telegraphy Act (important to wireless devices (e.g. mobile phones and also laptops etc with fixed wireless capability)
- The Communications Act jon63 made a good call mentioning Telecommunications Act for although parts were repealed for The Communication Act (governing licensing and content etc etc) the latter Act is not retrospective e.g. to older cases charged under The Telecommunications Act and so on
- The Electricity Act (still raises its head regarding abstracting electricity in various guises)
In the US you not only need to be familiar with national laws, but with state laws as well.
