A New Opening For Accessing iPhone Data

By: Joel Bollö, CEO of MSAB

The mobile forensic market is constantly changing, and changing rapidly. The latest example of that occurred very recently with the publication of a new exploit for the iPhone, the “checkm8” bootrom exploit.

The announcement of this exploit does not translate to having “instant access” to iPhones, but as a result, MSAB is confident that we will soon be able to offer our customers in law enforcement, intelligence, defense and other sectors new unrestricted capabilities to access iPhone data.

It is exciting for us that we will be able to offer the digital forensic community this and other new and improved capabilities, both for iPhone and Android-based platforms.

This development also highlights the fact that it is not only the unlocking of digital devices that constitutes our market. It is also to get the relevant data, and to analyze and understand what the information is all about.

There is no single mobile forensic technology solution that can do everything, so as a customer you should choose a range of tools that deliver the most value and capabilities over time.

That’s what we at MSAB are working to deliver. We have been in the industry longer than any other active company today. We shipped our first XRY system in 2002, and our customers have been successfully using XRY every year since then.

It is an exciting time. We will keep you updated on our progress. If you have any more detailed questions regarding MSAB and our capabilities, please feel free to contact us at any time.
