Parabon Computation, a veteran provider of extreme-scale grid computing software and services, today announced an alliance with AccessData®, a provider of state-of-the-art computer forensic and decryption solutions. Under an OEM arrangement, AccessData has integrated Parabon’s industry-leading Frontier® Grid Platform into its existing Distributed Network Attack® (DNA®) decryption application—a reliable and robust passcode cracking solution that can scale across thousands of computers. AccessData will market the software to law enforcement, government agencies and private businesses in need of an in-house decryption solution…DNA with Frontier integration can decrypt more than 70 different file types. Rather than search for a correct password in brute-force fashion, DNA with Frontier intelligently generates and tests the most likely candidates first, based on patterns of password creation that people tend to employ. Nevertheless, because the number of possible passwords is vast, a single decryption attack can take an impractical amount of time when executed on a single computer. The Frontier Grid Platform dramatically accelerates DNA by allowing different passwords to be tested in parallel across any number of computers within an enterprise. A password attack that would take a decade to complete on a single computer can be performed overnight by DNA with Frontier integration running on 5,000 enterprise computers.
DNA and Frontier have been integrated into a seamless enterprise solution that runs reliably and unobtrusively on most common operating systems and hardware platforms, delivering powerful decryption capability to multiple users. Users can access the system easily and securely to initiate and manage large-scale attacks right from the desktop. Because DNA with Frontier uses only the excess capacity of the computers on which it runs, it unobtrusively provides power for decryption or other compute-intensive calculations without affecting normal use of enterprise computers.
“Ever increasing levels of encryption require commensurate increases in computational power for decryption attacks to be effective,” stated Dr. Steven Armentrout, Parabon Founder and CEO. “The combination of AccessData’s award winning decryption software, and our Frontier Grid Platform, has produced a turnkey enterprise solution that vastly accelerates the rate at which passwords can be recovered.”
“Today’s law enforcement and intelligence professionals find themselves in a computational race against time with the continuous development of ever stronger encryption algorithms,” stated Tim Leehealey, CEO of AccessData. “AccessData has partnered with industry leader Parabon to resolve this challenge by allowing customers to harness the power of computers across the enterprise to achieve decryption speeds never before possible.”
About Parabon® Computation
Parabon is a veteran provider of grid computing software and solutions, delivering affordable, extreme-scale Computation on Demand to customers across a wide variety of market sectors. A year after its 1999 founding, the company launched its flagship product, the Frontier® Grid Platform – a software solution that aggregates computational capacity of existing IT resources and delivers it as a flexible and scalable utility service. Frontier can be deployed internally, harnessing the excess computing power of an organization’s existing enterprise assets; it can also be deployed across a virtualized data center, providing a complementary high-performance computing (HPC) service for cloud computing infrastructures. Finally, customers can tap into the power of the Parabon Computation Grid, the company’s online utility computing service. For more information, visit www.parabon.com.
