BlackBag Technologies announces a new partnership with industry-leading vehicle forensics company, Berla.
In today’s investigations, it is now commonplace to have multiple digital devices associated to one case. As such, consolidating acquired devices is critical when reconstructing a sequence of events for a case. Whenever a mobile device is connected to a vehicle system via USB, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi, some data from that device is stored in the vehicle. Potentially, device contacts, call logs, and SMS messages are stored and can thus be acquired in iVe, though the exact data types recorded will vary from one vehicle to another. As infotainment and telematics systems become increasingly prevalent, eventually just about every crime that necessitates digital analysis revolves around data stored on not only mobile devices but on vehicles as well.“We are excited to continue our longstanding relationship with Berla by formally extending our partnership to provide our customers the ability to view relevant advanced vehicle forensic capabilities in our tools,” says Ken Basore, CEO of BlackBag.
Now that iVe users can export to BlackLight, the resultant files can be viewed alongside any paired mobile devices supported by BlackLight, as well as additional associated devices for a more comprehensive case analysis.
Basore also explains, “we know data is everywhere – it’s not only on mobile devices and computers, but in our vehicles. Gaining access and being able to analyze all possible data is crucial for investigators. By integrating Berla’s iVe Ecosystem with BlackLight, our customers will have access to tools available to identify, acquire and analyze the intelligence stored in vehicles.”
By combining the forensic capabilities of Berla’s iVe with the analysis in BlackBag’s BlackLight, investigators now have the ability to view the big picture, conduct concurrent analysis on multiple digital devices and solve crimes more expeditiously.
