Computer crime is not only exploding in volume but is mutating faster than it can be contained, a new report to be published next week will warn. Some 2.5 million new types of malicious programme have been launched in the past two months alone – more than the previous 15 years put together, according to the latest data from the security firm Trend Micro. The UK now has around 1.25 million “infected” computers.
