DC3 Digital Forensics Challenge

Do you or someone you know have what it takes to meet our Challenge? The Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) has created it’s first Digital Forensics Challenge. This Challenge is open to any and all U.S. citizens in the continental United States. We invite you to join us and prove that your institution is a leader in the digital forensics community. Can your employees create new innovative tools and techniques that will benefit the digital forensics’ community? You can field as many teams as you like (up to 4 members per team) to take the challenge.

Please read carefully the following Challenge abstract…The Defense Cyber Crime Center Digital Forensic Challenge is a
competition that encourages technological innovation from pioneers in
the digital forensics’ community.


Participants of the Challenge will face several scenarios covering a
variety of current digital forensic problems & trends. The winning team
will receive a trip to the 7^th Annual Department of Defense Cyber Crime
Conference in St. Louis, MO, from January 21-26, 2007. It will include
conference admission, government per diem (to cover travel,
accommodations, and food), as well as public recognition at the
Conference. The winners will also be presented with an award to mark
their outstanding achievement.


Important Dates:


– 1 Aug 2006– Advertising and Registration Begins


– 1 Sep 2006– Begin to send Digital Media to registered
participants


– 1 Dec 2006– Last Day to Submit your Forensic Report


– 15 Dec 2006 – Winning Team Announced


– 21-26 Jan 2007 – DoD Cyber Crime Conference Award Presentation
