Town receives device to help track online child predators

The Town of Rocky Mount Police Department was presented with a “Cop in a Box” at the Altavista Moose Family Center in Altavista on Wednesday last week.

The “Cop in a Box” laptop computer includes a U.S. Department of Justice-certified high-tech program created to offer cost-effective protection to children from online predators.

“This will allow us to do some computer forensics and investigative forensics including data recovery,” said Lt. Danny Brabham with the RMPD. “I’ve been told that it’s a cure for what we need…”
