UFED 5.3 Delivers Support For iPhone 7, 7 Plus And More Of The Latest Releases

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best and most up-to-date support for the latest devices and operating systems, Cellebrite announced last week support for newly launched phones – including iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Android V7.0 Nougat as well as iOS 10, as part of the UFED version 5.3 release.The frequent release of new OS versions, also introduce encryption challenges, and data extraction barriers to examiners. With the latest iOS the backup is encrypted in iTunes by default. Cellebrite currently supports advanced logical, logical and file system extraction methods on iPhone devices running iOS 10 with an unencrypted backup in iTunes. However, in the next few days we will introduce an unmatched capability to decode encrypted iTunes backup- stay tuned!

Logical extractions are available for the latest Android OS v7.0 Nougat. UFED v5.3 also supports physical extraction and decoding of rooted and unencrypted Samsung Galaxy S7 and Note 7 devices.
