Hi All,
This is my first post here. I am also new to the Forensics world.
I have been in IT for many years, HelpDesk, Desktop Support, LAN Admin, and various other hats as well. I have had many Novell and Microsoft trainings and certifications, and have done security based jobs as well, such as a RBAC project for a large insurance firm.
At the company I am working for now, I am once again in a Desktop Support role, and the InfoSec Dept. is starting to expect the Desktop team to perform Forensic investigations, and I want to get myself in place, skills-wise, to handle what is to come.
I have found this training company who is offering a training course for Computer Forensics, and I would like to know if anyone here has anything to say, good or bad regarding their offering. (which includes the hotel stay)
Here is the link to the site of the Forensics training…

Any advice is welcome, and as a side note I am paying for this or any other training out of pocket, so there is no travel budget. (
Thanks for any input.

InfoSec Institute offers training via online delivery for some courses which would be less expensive than attending an in-classroom session for a few days plus the hotel and travel expenses. I have not taken any training through InfoSec Institute so I cannot attest to the quality of the training.
I have attended the CCE Bootcamp offered by Champlain College in partnership with International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners (ISFCE) which was delivered via online modality and found it very good.
I suggest you compare the pricing of both training programmes since you are paying out of pocket. The fact you are eligible to write the examinations for three (3) certifications with the InfoSec Institute training seems like a bonus depending upon the overall costs. Hopefully, someone with firsthand experience with InfoSec Institute responds to your original question.
