Hi,

Firstly, My name is Christopher Clark. I am currently studying BSc Digital Forensics at the University of Portsmouth. Secondly, I hope I am posting under the correct forum.

As part of my Final Major Project I am conducting a study into legacy evidence that could be held on obsolete devices and the frequency of these devices within today’s investigations.

A section of my study is to gain primary knowledge via a questionnaire from the Hampshire, Kent, West Sussex, and the Metropolitan police. Although they have agreed to cooperate I have had no further response and respect that they have higher priorities.

Therefore, I felt it may be a good idea to ask any forensic examiners on here, if it would be possible to complete my questionnaire for my dissertation?

* The aim of the questionnaire is to investigate legacy evidence within the forensic industry, as legacy systems are now rare and could be argued almost extinct. My study will look into the compatibility and other legacy issues that could occur with today’s technology. *

May I stress that there will be no private, personal, or case related questions. The questions will be related to knowledge, experience, awareness and tools used to perpetrate investigations on legacy systems. The questionnaire will remain anonymous.

I would be very grateful if you are a forensic examiner and have the time to complete my questionnaire, the URL for the survey has been given below

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHc4VkxZV3hKeDd5eW80RjRmdWhUZFE6MA

Lastly, If I have posted in the wrong place, would you kindly enough point me in the right direction?

Thank you

I conducted a survey a few years ago on forensic reporting techniques. I distributed the request here, on the CCE and HTCIA listservs, the EnCase boards, AD boards, etc. I got over 400 responses, far larger than I had hoped. I suggest you find a way to hit those venues, relevant LinkedIn groups, Facebook, etc.
